Instructions:
1. Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet:
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cheese from sticking and to ensure easy cleanup.
2. Slice and Arrange the Cheese:
- Take the slices of cheese and cut each slice into small squares or pieces. For a Cheez-It-like size, cut each slice into 9 small pieces.
- Arrange the cut cheese pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they don’t overlap. Depending on the size of your baking sheet, you can fit around 6 slices of cheese, which will yield approximately 54 mini crackers.
3. Bake the Crackers:
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
- Bake the cheese pieces for 30-35 minutes. Keep an eye on them, as baking times may vary depending on the thickness of the cheese and your oven. The cheese should become crispy and golden brown.
4. Cool and Serve:
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven once the cheese pieces are crispy and golden.
- Allow the cheese crackers to cool completely on the baking sheet. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- Once cooled, transfer the crackers to an airtight container for storage. They should stay crispy for several days.
