Keto Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz (340 g) organic mozzarella cheese sticks (or string cheese)
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, for extra binding)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or coconut oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Sticks:
    • If using large mozzarella cheese sticks, cut them into halves or thirds to achieve your desired stick size. If using string cheese, they’re usually already the right size.
  2. Set Up a Breading Station:
    • In one shallow bowl, combine the almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
    • In a second shallow bowl, beat the eggs and heavy cream together (if using). This mixture will help the almond flour adhere to the cheese sticks.
  3. Coat the Cheese Sticks:
    • Dip each mozzarella stick first into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
