INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 c onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 c pizza sauce, sugar-free, divided use
  • 12 slices chicken deli meat, or turkey
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 c parmesan cheese, shredded

INSTRUCTIONS

  • To begin, preheat your oven to 350 ° (F).
  • Coat a 9×13 baking dish with your preferred oil, and set it aside for now.
  • Brown a pound of ground beef with diced onion and Italian seasoning in a skillet.
  • When the beef is nearly cooked through, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and cook those together for the remaining time. Remove them from the heat.
  • Spread 1/2 cup of pizza sauce in your baking dish.
  • Arrange a layer of sliced chicken deli meat.
  • Top with 2 cups of ricotta cheese.
  • Add a layer of mozzarella cheese slices.
  • Top the cheese with the ground beef mixture.
  • Spread half of the remaining pizza sauce over the top of the ground beef.
  • Add a second layer of the chicken slices.
  • Top with the remaining pizza sauce, another layer of mozzarella cheese, and finally parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting into it.
