Garlic Butter Shrimps

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Cooked rice or crusty bread, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season the shrimp with a little salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet or frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. If you’re using red pepper flakes, add them to the skillet for a bit of heat. Stir everything together to combine the flavors.
  5. Now, add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. The cooking time will depend on the size of the shrimp, so keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
  6. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and stir it into the buttery garlic sauce.
  7. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the shrimp and stir it in for added freshness and flavor.
  8. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with more salt and black pepper, if needed.
  9. Once the shrimp are cooked and coated with the garlic butter sauce, remove the skillet from the heat.
  10. Serve the Garlic Butter Shrimps with cooked rice or crusty bread for dipping into the delicious sauce. Garnish with extra chopped parsley and lemon wedges on the side.

Enjoy your scrumptious Garlic Butter Shrimps! It’s a quick and delightful dish perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
