Keto Mozzarella Wrap Sandwich
For the Mozzarella Wrap:
- 8-10 slices of mozzarella cheese (sliced from a block)
- Optional: dried oregano or other herbs for flavor
For the Filling:
- 4-6 slices of cooked turkey, chicken, or deli meat of your choice
- 4 large lettuce leaves
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 4-6 slices of cooked bacon
- Mayonnaise or mustard (sugar-free)
- Prepare the Mozzarella Wraps:
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Place 2-3 slices of mozzarella cheese on the skillet, allowing them to melt and fuse together. Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano or your preferred herbs onto the cheese while it’s melting.
- Once the cheese slices have melted and are lightly golden, carefully lift them off the skillet and place them on a plate to cool and solidify. Repeat this process for the remaining cheese slices.
- Assemble the Filling:
- Lay out a slice of mozzarella wrap on a clean surface.
- Layer a lettuce leaf on top of the mozzarella wrap.
- Place 1-2 slices of your chosen deli meat on top of the lettuce.
- Add a couple of tomato slices on top of the meat.
- Lay 1-2 slices of cooked bacon on the tomatoes.
- Spread a small amount of mayonnaise or mustard (or both) on the bacon.
- Roll Up the Wrap:
- Carefully roll up the mozzarella wrap, starting from one end and tucking in the sides as you go, much like you would with a regular tortilla wrap.
- Place the seam side down to help the wrap hold its shape.
- Repeat and Serve:
- Repeat the filling and rolling process for the remaining mozzarella wraps and fillings.
- You can serve the wraps whole or slice them diagonally into smaller portions for a more sandwich-like appearance.
