Keto Sausage Cheese Scones

Ingredients:

  • Sausage:
    • 8 oz (225 g) breakfast sausage, crumbled and cooked
  • Almond Flour:
    • 2 cups (200 g)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese:
    • 1 cup (100 g)
  • Baking Powder:
    • 1 tablespoon
  • Eggs:
    • 2 large
  • Unsalted Butter:
    • 1/2 cup (115 g), melted
  • Heavy Cream:
    • 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Salt:
    • 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper:
    • 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic Powder (optional):
    • 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dried Oregano (optional):
    • 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder (if using), and dried oregano (if using).
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, and heavy cream.
  5. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
    • Gently fold in the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Form the Scones:
    • Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 8-10 scones. You can shape them into rounds or mounds.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the scones to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
