Chocolate Peanut Butter “Heaven” Mousse

This is one of those ridiculously easy desserts that tastes much more indulgent than the effort required. It’s light, fluffy, creamy, and packed with chocolate-peanut-butter flavor. Whipping the cold cream to stiff peaks gives it that airy mousse-like texture.

⭐ Ingredients

Makes 2–4 servings

  • 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter, optional
  • Stevia or preferred zero-calorie sweetener, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • Tiny pinch of salt, optional

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Chill your bowl
For the fluffiest whipped cream, place your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for about 10–15 minutes before starting.

2. Whip the cream
Pour the cold heavy cream into the chilled bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until it becomes thick and begins forming peaks.

Continue until you reach stiff peaks—when you lift the beaters, the peak should stand upright. Be careful not to overbeat, because cream can eventually turn grainy and become butter.

3. Add the chocolate
Sift in 1 tablespoon cocoa powder so you don’t get cocoa lumps. Add stevia to taste and vanilla if using.

4. Add peanut butter
Add 1 tablespoon peanut butter if you want that rich chocolate-peanut-butter flavor.

5. Fold gently
Using a spatula, gently fold everything together until the cocoa and peanut butter are evenly incorporated. Don’t aggressively stir—the goal is to keep as much air in the whipped cream as possible.

6. Taste and adjust
Taste a small spoonful. Add a little more stevia if you want it sweeter, or another teaspoon of cocoa for a deeper chocolate flavor.

7. Chill
Divide between small dessert glasses or bowls. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes for a firmer mousse-like texture.

🍫 Topping Ideas

Try adding:

  • A dusting of cocoa powder
  • A few chopped peanuts
  • Sugar-free chocolate shavings
  • A tiny drizzle of melted peanut butter
  • Sugar-free chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

🥜 Extra Peanut Butter Version

For an even stronger Reese’s-style flavor, use 2 tablespoons peanut butter instead of 1. For the smoothest result, slightly soften the peanut butter first, then gently incorporate it into the whipped cream. Peanut butter whipped cream is commonly stabilized by incorporating peanut butter into whipped cream rather than simply stirring it aggressively.

💡 Keto/Low-Carb Option

To keep this dessert low-carb, use unsweetened cocoa, unsweetened peanut butter, heavy cream, and a zero-carb sweetener such as stevia or monk fruit. Check your specific peanut butter and cream labels because carbohydrate amounts vary by brand.

The result: a creamy, fluffy chocolate-peanut-butter cloud that takes only a few minutes to make. 🍫🥜✨

If this sounds like heaven to you too, save this recipe and share it with someone who needs an easy chocolate fix! ❤️
