Ingredients:

  • 8 pieces of deli ham (smoked or black forest)
  • 1/2 jar of lower-carb marinara sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef, browned
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Pepperoni (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare Ground Beef Mixture:
    • Brown the ground beef in a pan.
    • Add sugar-free marinara sauce and Italian seasoning to the browned beef.
    • Cook on medium/high heat for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Prepare Casserole Dish:
    • Spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  4. Layer the Casserole:
    • Cover the bottom of the dish with 4 pieces of deli ham, allowing them to overlap.
    • Spread half of the ground beef/marinara mixture over the ham.

    • Spread the remaining ground beef/marinara mixture.
    • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

  7. Broil for a Golden Finish:
    • Move the pan to the top rack and broil for 1-3 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned on top. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
