Steak and Shrimp Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (about 450g) steak (such as sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb (about 450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color you prefer)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for some heat)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season the steak pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, dried thyme, and dried oregano.
  2. In a large skillet or pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the seasoned steak pieces to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides. This should take about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
  5. Add the minced garlic and sliced onions to the skillet. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  6. Add the sliced bell pepper to the skillet and cook until they are slightly softened.
  7. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque.
  8. Return the cooked steak to the skillet, and add the halved cherry tomatoes. Mix everything together.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if you want a bit of heat.
  10. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until everything is heated through.
  11. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
