Ingredients
For the cheesy chicken buns
- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp almond flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
For the burger filling
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 dill pickle slices
- 2 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- ½ tsp lemon juice
Instructions
1. Prepare the chicken mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Mix gently until everything is evenly combined.
2. Shape the cheesy chicken buns
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions.
Flatten each portion into a thin round patty, approximately ½ inch thick. These will form the top and bottom of two burgers.
3. Prepare for cooking
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
Arrange the patties with enough space between them.
4. Bake the chicken patties
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
The internal temperature must reach 165°F (74°C).
For extra golden edges, broil for 1–2 minutes while watching carefully.
5. Make the burger sauce
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth and creamy.
6. Assemble the McChicken burgers
Place one cheesy chicken patty on a plate.
Add lettuce, pickle slices, a little burger sauce, and optional cheddar cheese.
Top with another cheesy chicken patty.
7. Serve
Serve warm while the cheesy chicken buns are tender and flavorful.
