Ingredients:

  • 16 oz ground sausage
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature for easier mixing.
    • Shred the cheddar cheese if not already shredded.
  3. Combine Ingredients:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar, cream cheese, coconut flour, beaten egg, and salt.
  4. Mix Thoroughly:
    • Use your hands or a spoon to mix all the ingredients together thoroughly. Ensure that the coconut flour is evenly distributed, and the mixture has a consistent texture.
  5. Form into Balls:
    • Form the mixture into approximately 30 small balls. You can use a tablespoon or a cookie scoop to ensure uniform size.
  6. Place on Baking Sheet:
    • Arrange the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each one.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the sausage balls are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
  8. Check for Doneness:
    • You can check for doneness by cutting one ball in half to ensure the sausage is fully cooked. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Serve Warm:
    • Once cooked through, remove the sausage balls from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve them warm as an appetizer.
  10. Optional Dipping Sauce:
