Ingredients:

  • 2 large yellow bell peppers
  • 8 oz shredded steak (cooked and seasoned to your preference)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the stuffed peppers.
  2. Prepare the Yellow Peppers:
    • Carefully cut the tops off the yellow peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse the inside of the peppers to clean them.
  3. Sauté the Onions:
    • In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become soft, caramelized, and golden brown. This will take about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  4. Prepare the Shredded Steak:
    • If the shredded steak is not already cooked, cook and season it to your preference in a separate pan. You can use your favorite steak seasoning or simply season with salt and pepper.
  5. Stuff the Peppers:
    • Fill each yellow pepper with a layer of shredded steak, followed by a generous portion of the caramelized onions. You can add a sprinkle of Italian seasoning for extra flavor if desired.
    • Top each stuffed pepper with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake the Stuffed Peppers:
