Low-Carb Berry Swirl Protein Yogurt Dessert

This creamy berry swirl dessert is a delicious, high-protein, low-carb alternative to the original recipe. It combines thick Greek yogurt with juicy berries and a touch of keto-friendly sweetness for a refreshing, guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (450 g) plain, nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup (140 g) fresh or frozen strawberries and raspberries
  • 1 scoop (30 g) vanilla whey protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons powdered erythritol or another keto-friendly sweetener, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice, optional

Instructions

1. Prepare the berries

Add the berries to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring and lightly mashing until they soften and form a thick berry sauce. Let cool completely.

2. Make the protein yogurt

In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a tablespoon of unsweetened almond milk.

3. Create the berry swirl

Transfer the yogurt mixture into a shallow container or serving glasses. Spoon the cooled berry sauce over the top and gently swirl with a toothpick or knife to create a beautiful marbled effect.

4. Chill

Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the dessert to become thicker.

5. Serve

Enjoy chilled as a high-protein breakfast, afternoon snack, or healthy dessert.

Estimated Nutrition

Per serving, assuming 4 servings:

  • Calories: 115–135
  • Protein: 15–18 g
  • Total carbohydrates: 8–11 g

Nutrition is approximate and depends on your yogurt, protein powder, berries, and sweetener.

Tips for the Best Results

  • Choose plain Greek yogurt with no added sugar.
  • Use strawberries and raspberries for a relatively low-carb berry combination.
  • Add protein powder gradually to prevent lumps.
  • Avoid honey, maple syrup, and regular sugar to keep the recipe low-carb.
  • For a thicker, cheesecake-like texture, refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Diet suitability: High-protein and lower-carb, with a keto-friendly option when portions and ingredients are chosen carefully. It is not zero-carb.
