Rich, Savory, Low-Carb Breakfast

A quick and satisfying keto breakfast combining crispy salami, a perfectly cooked egg, and creamy goat cheese. It takes only about 10 minutes and makes an excellent protein-rich start to the day.

Serves: 1
Prep time: 3 minutes
Cook time: 7 minutes
Total time: ~10 minutes

πŸ›’ Ingredients

  • 2–3 slices salami, chopped or left whole
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 oz (28 g) goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon butter or olive oil, if needed
  • ΒΌ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ΒΌ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt, if needed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley
  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions

1. Crisp the Salami

Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Add the salami slices or pieces.

Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until lightly browned and crisp around the edges.

Salami usually releases some of its own fat, so you may not need additional oil.

2. Add the Eggs 🍳

Reduce the heat slightly.

Crack the eggs directly into the skillet beside or over the salami.

Season with garlic powder and black pepper.

Cook for approximately 3–4 minutes, depending on how firm you like the yolks.

For firmer whites, cover the skillet with a lid for the last minute.

3. Add the Goat Cheese πŸ§€

Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese over the eggs during the final 1–2 minutes of cooking.

Cover the pan briefly to allow the goat cheese to warm and soften.

It doesn’t need to completely meltβ€”the slightly creamy, tangy texture is delicious.

4. Finish & Serve 🌿

Remove from the heat.

Sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley and, if desired, a pinch of chili flakes.

Serve immediately while hot.

🌢️ Optional Variations

Spicy: Add jalapeΓ±o slices or chili flakes.

Herby: Add fresh parsley, chives, or oregano.

Extra cheesy: Add a small amount of shredded cheddar or mozzarella along with the goat cheese.

Vegetable-packed: Add a handful of spinach or a few sliced mushrooms while cooking the salami.

πŸ’ͺ Approximate Nutrition

Using 3 slices salami, 2 eggs, and 28 g goat cheese:

  • Calories: ~350–400
  • Protein: ~22–25 g
  • Fat: ~28–32 g
  • Net carbs: ~2–4 g

Exact values depend on the salami and goat cheese brands.

πŸ₯‘ Serving Idea

For a more substantial keto breakfast, serve with avocado, sautΓ©ed spinach, or a small side salad.

Crispy salami + creamy goat cheese + perfectly cooked eggs = a simple 10-minute keto breakfast that’s seriously satisfying! πŸ₯šπŸ§€πŸ₯“
