High protein breakfast ideas

🍓 1. Greek Yogurt Berry Protein Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225–250 g) plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup strawberries and blueberries
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds
  • 1 tsp maple syrup, optional
  • 1 tbsp vanilla or unflavored protein powder, optional
  • Cinnamon, optional

Instructions

  1. Add Greek yogurt to a serving bowl.
  2. If using protein powder, mix it thoroughly into the yogurt.
  3. Add the strawberries and blueberries.
  4. Sprinkle with chia seeds and chopped almonds.
  5. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
  6. Add cinnamon and serve immediately.

Approx. protein: 25–35 g, depending on yogurt and protein powder.

🍳 2. High-Protein Egg & Toast Plate

Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 slice whole-grain bread
  • 1 tsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, optional
  • 2 tbsp cottage cheese, optional

Instructions

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Pour in the eggs and gently stir until softly scrambled and fully cooked.
  4. Toast the whole-grain bread.
  5. For extra protein, serve cottage cheese alongside the eggs.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Approx. protein: 23–28 g.

🥑 3. Paneer Avocado Protein Toast

Ingredients

  • 100 g paneer, crumbled
  • 1 slice whole-grain bread
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper
  • Red-pepper flakes, optional
  • Fresh coriander, optional

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread until lightly crisp.
  2. Mash the avocado with lemon juice, salt and black pepper.
  3. Spread the avocado mixture evenly over the toast.
  4. Crumble the paneer over the top.
  5. For a warm version, cook the paneer in a dry nonstick skillet for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with red-pepper flakes and coriander.

Approx. protein: 20–25 g, depending on the paneer.

🥣 4. Creamy High-Protein Oats Bowl

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add oats, milk or water, cinnamon and a pinch of salt to a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from the heat and let it cool for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the protein powder until smooth.
  5. Fold in the Greek yogurt.
  6. Transfer to a bowl and top with peanut butter, chia seeds and banana.
  7. Serve warm or chilled.

Approx. protein: 30–40 g.

Tip: If the oats become too thick after adding protein powder, stir in a splash of milk.

🌯 5. Chickpea Greek Yogurt Protein Wrap

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup thick plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 whole-grain wrap
  • ¼ cup diced tomato
  • ¼ cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin, optional
  • Fresh coriander, optional

Instructions

  1. Add chickpeas to a bowl and lightly mash them with a fork.
  2. Add Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt, pepper and cumin.
  3. Mix until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  4. Lay the wrap flat and add lettuce and tomato.
  5. Spoon the chickpea-yogurt mixture over the vegetables.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh coriander if desired.
  7. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  8. Slice in half and serve.

Approx. protein: 15–20 g.

💪 Easy Ways to Increase Protein

  • Add ½ cup grilled chicken to the wrap.
  • Mix protein powder into yogurt or oats.
  • Choose Greek yogurt with a higher protein content.
  • Add cottage cheese to eggs or toast.
  • Use milk instead of water for oats.
  • Add an extra egg to your breakfast plate.

Protein amounts are approximate and vary by brand, recipe size and ingredients.
