🧄 High-Protein Keto Garlic Butter Chicken Bites

Tender, juicy chicken bites seared until golden, then tossed in a rich garlic-lemon butter sauce. Served with asparagus or broccoli instead of rice, this is an easy high-protein, low-carb, keto-friendly dinner that’s packed with flavor.

Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

🥘 Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1½ lb (680 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tsp lemon zest
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

For Serving

  • 4 cups broccoli florets or
  • 1 lb (450 g) asparagus
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cut and season the chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes. Pat them dry with paper towels.

Place in a bowl and toss with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

2. Sear the chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken in a single layer.

Cook for about 3–4 minutes, then turn the pieces and cook another 3–4 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

Avoid overcrowding the pan. Cook in batches if necessary.

3. Add the garlic butter
Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet.

Cook for about 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add lemon juice, lemon zest, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using.

4. Toss everything together
Return all the chicken to the skillet and toss well in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes so the chicken absorbs the flavors.

The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. Prepare the vegetables
While the chicken cooks, steam or sauté the broccoli or asparagus until tender-crisp.

For extra flavor, toss the vegetables with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon.

6. Serve
Divide the vegetables between four plates and top with the garlic butter chicken bites. Spoon any remaining garlic-lemon butter from the skillet over the chicken.

Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon.

💪 High-Protein & Low-Carb Tips

  • Use chicken breast for the highest protein with relatively low calories.
  • Skip rice, pasta, and potatoes to keep the meal low in carbohydrates.
  • Broccoli and asparagus make excellent keto-friendly sides.
  • For even more protein, serve with a spoonful of plain Greek yogurt mixed with lemon and garlic as a cool dipping sauce.

🔥 Flavor Variations

Spicy: Add ½–1 tsp red pepper flakes.

Parmesan Garlic: Add 2 tbsp finely grated Parmesan at the end.

Creamy: Stir in 2–3 tbsp heavy cream after adding the garlic butter for a creamy sauce.

Mediterranean: Add chopped parsley, oregano, lemon zest, and a few crumbled feta pieces before serving.

Approximate nutrition per serving: 350–400 calories, 45–50 g protein, 5–7 g net carbs, depending on the vegetables and exact ingredients used.
