Creamy Chicken with Broccoli
Creamy Chicken with Broccoli
Creamy, savory, and comforting chicken with tender broccoli and mushrooms — perfect for an easy family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken thighs, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup canned mushrooms, drained
- 250 ml all-purpose cream
- 500 g broccoli, cut into florets
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ chicken bouillon cube
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika, optional
- ¼ cup water, if needed
Instructions
- Prepare the broccoli:
Steam or blanch the broccoli for 2–3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside. - Cook the chicken:
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and cooked through. - Add aromatics:
Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30–60 seconds. - Add mushrooms:
Stir in the drained mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes. - Make it creamy:
Add the chicken bouillon cube, soy sauce, black pepper, and cream. Stir well and reduce the heat to low. - Simmer:
Let everything gently simmer for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if the sauce becomes too thick. - Add broccoli:
Fold in the cooked broccoli and simmer for another 2–3 minutes, just until everything is heated through. - Taste and serve:
Taste before adding salt because the bouillon cube and soy sauce are already salty. Serve hot.
💪 Protein / Low-Carb Notes
This recipe is high in protein because it contains 1 kg of chicken and is relatively low in carbohydrates because it doesn’t use flour, pasta, or rice.
For a more weight-loss-friendly version, use skinless chicken breast, reduce the cream, and increase the broccoli.
