Philly Cheese Steak Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until it’s browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and green pepper. Sauté them until they become tender.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  6. Pour the beef broth into the skillet and bring it to a simmer. Allow it to reduce slightly.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir everything together.
  8. Stir in the cream cheese until it’s fully melted and the mixture is creamy.
  9. Transfer the contents of the skillet into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  10. Sprinkle the shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
